Row of industrial gang saws cutting granite blocks into slabs inside a stone processing plant

Capability

Manufacturing

Processing, finishing, inlay and mosaic — the stage where a block becomes something a building or a person can use.

Overview

Manufacturing is where our machine capability and our hand capability meet. CNC and waterjet do the work that has to repeat perfectly; carvers and inlay artisans do the work that no machine can be told how to do.

Everything is inspected before it is packed, and export packing is treated as part of manufacturing rather than an afterthought — most stone damage happens in transit, not in production.

01

  • Cut-to-size production
  • CNC machining
  • Waterjet cutting
  • Hand carving
  • Edge profiling
  • Polishing
  • Honing
  • Brushing and leathering
  • Sandblasting
  • Antique and chiselled finishing
  • Flaming and bush-hammering
  • Assembly and dry-fitting
  • Quality control inspection
  • Export packaging

02

Inlay & Mosaic

Pietra Dura and mosaic work, hand-cut and flush-set so the finished surface reads as one plane.

03

Quality & Packing

The checks and the crate design that decide whether the piece arrives in the condition it left in.

  • Dimensional check against shop drawing
  • Finish consistency across a run
  • Dry assembly of multi-piece packages
  • Numbering and installation sequencing
  • Fumigated timber crating
  • Foam and edge protection
  • Steel frames for heavy single pieces
  • Photographic record before sealing

How it runs

The sequence, start to finish

  1. 01

    Block in

Graded blocks arrive from the quarry and are matched to the order.

  2. 02

    Primary cutting

Gang saw or block cutter reduces the block to slabs or blanks.

  3. 03

    Shaping

CNC, waterjet, profiling and hand carving bring each piece to drawing.

  4. 04

    Surface finishing

Polish, hone, brush, sandblast, flame or antique — to specification.

  5. 05

    Assembly and QC

Multi-piece work is dry-fitted, checked and numbered.

  6. 06

    Packing

Crated for the actual journey, with a photographic record before sealing.

Send a drawing, a sample or a reference photograph. We will confirm what is machine work, what is hand work, and what that means for cost and lead time.
