Overview
An institutional floor is a maintenance decision disguised as a design decision. The specification was set around footfall, cleaning chemicals and slip performance, and the palette followed from that rather than the other way round.
The centrepiece is a waterjet-cut inlaid medallion, assembled and polished as one panel in the factory so the campus never had to close the atrium for on-site inlay work.
